Message, Saturday July 12

Dear Subscribers - Here’s a message from Nonviolence International re: the Freedom Flotilla:

On Sunday, July 13, 2025, from Siracusa, Italy, Freedom Flotilla’s boat ‘Handala’ will launch to challenge Israel’s illegal and deadly blockade of Gaza.

Freedom Flotilla is a project supported by Nonviolence International. It carries life-saving humanitarian aid and an urgent message of solidarity: We will not stay silent as Gaza is starved, humiliated, executed, bombed, and buried under rubble.

Just weeks ago, Israeli forces illegally seized the vessel ‘Madleen’ in international waters and abducted 12 unarmed civilians, including a Member of the European Parliament. What was the “crime”? Attempting to deliver food, medicine, and dignity to people under siege.

The children of Gaza, who make up over half the population, have been living under a brutal blockade and siege for their entire lives. Since October 2023, nearly 58,000 Palestinians have been killed or injured, tens of thousands orphaned, and nearly 2 million forcibly displaced and homeless. All now face famine, disease, and trauma few of us can imagine. This mission is for them.

But we refuse to look away. We are not governments. We are people, stepping in where institutions have failed.

At Nonviolence International, we believe nonviolent direct action can pierce even the most entrenched systems of violence. That’s why we are proud to support the Freedom Flotilla - a people-powered effort to break the blockade and demand justice.

Will you stand with us?
