   RIVER VALLEY PROTESTORS CALL FOR WHOLE FOODS/AMAZON BOYCOTT OVER AMAZON’S SUPPORT FOR ISRAEL’S GENOCIDE                       AGAINST THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE   

On Saturday, July 12, at 2:15 pm, River Valley for Palestine (RVP) members will gather outside the Whole Foods store in Hadley, MA, to urge a consumer boycott of Whole Foods, and Amazon, which owns Whole Foods, because of Amazon’s complicity in the starvation and genocide against the Palestinian people, especially in Gaza.

According to the recently released report of U.N. special rapporteur for Palestine, Francesca Albanese, Amazon, as well as Microsoft and Alphabet (Google), has granted Israel “virtually government-wide access to their cloud and artificial intelligence technologies, enhancing data processing, decision-making and surveillance and analysis capabilities.”   

“In boycotting Whole Foods, we, the people, can take action that will have a direct impact on a genocide enabler,” said Nick Mottern, of RVP.  Dorothea Melnikoff, another RVP member, added: “This one small action of boycotting will send a very powerful message to Amazon, and the other supporters of the genocide against the Palestinian people.”

The Saturday protest at the Hadley Whole Foods, located at 327 Russell Street (Route 9), will be seen worldwide by those viewing the annual, 24-hour PeaceWave broadcast being organized by World Beyond War. https://worldbeyondwar.org/wave/

These entities are listed in the Albanese report as profiting from the genocide against Palestinians:

  • Weapons Manufacturers: Lockheed Martin, at least 1,650 other companies, for the F-35

  • Higher Education: Massachusetts Institute of Technology

  • Tech companies: Alphabet (Google), Amazon, HP, IBM, Microsoft, Palantir

  • Industrial Equipment: Caterpillar Inc.

  • Real Estate: Airbnb, Booking.com, Keller Williams Realty LLC

  • Fossil Fuels: BP, Chevron

  • Finance: BlackRock, Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO), Vanguard

  • Faith-based charities: Christian Friends of Israeli Communities
