Scott Benedict is a retired US Marine Corps Major General who last served as the Commanding General of Second Marine Aircraft Wing. Scott’s Joint assignments included service as the Director, Strategy, Plans and Policy (J-5) at US Central Command; the Director Politico-Military Affairs, Middle East, within the Joint Staff J-5, and Special Assistant to the Assistant Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Colby Connelly
Senior Fellow, Middle East Institute
Colby Connelly is a senior fellow at the Middle East Institute (MEI), where he focuses on oil and gas markets, liquified natural gas (LNG), aboveground risk, corporate strategy, and the impact of the energy transition on oil- and gas-producing states. He is also a senior analyst at Energy Intelligence, where he works with the firm’s research and advisory practices.
