This Week in Palestinian Arts: Quincy for Palestine Presents Where Olive Trees Weep
Free screening and discussion
The Oscars were last weekend, and No Other Land won Best Documentary Picture. No Other Land portrays life for Palestinians in the West Bank under Israel’s illegal military occupation. In an ongoing effort to continue to raise Palestinian voices, Quincy for Palestine is hosting a free film screening of another award-winning Palestinian documentary about the West Bank, Where Olive Trees Weep, on Sunday, March 16th from 1:30-4:00 PM. RSVP for location here.
It’s important to mention that even after winning the most prestigious film award for a documentary film, No Other Land is unable to get a distributor in the United States. You can still catch it at Coolidge Corner Theater in Brookline, but the lack of a distributer for an Oscar-winning film is another clear and obvious attempt to silence Palestinian voices from mainstream media in order to keep the American public unaware of the ongoing genocide, violence, and land theft in the West Bank, which has only escalated in 2025! Of course, the more Americans become aware of these atrocities, they will realize the role our government plays in funding them with our taxes.
Listen to Palestinian voices and support Palestinian films. RSVP to join us next Sunday. And click here to help out families in Gaza right now!
