9/2 (in person, Lawrence MA) 12-5pm - Outreach for Peace at the 40th Annual Lawrence Bread & Roses Festival (MAPA)

Monday, September 2, 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM, in person Campagnone Common, 200 Common Street, Lawrence, MA

Outreach for Peace at the Lawrence Bread & Roses Festival

The Bread and Roses Festival will be the 40th annual celebration of Lawrence’s history and diverse cultures through music, theater, dance, and art.

The festival recognizes, commemorates, informs, and shares the labor history and social justice legacy of Lawrence’s 1912 Bread & Roses strike with Lawrence’s present day residents and people worldwide.

Massachusetts Peace Action will set up an info table at the event and will be asking the public to sign postcards and petitions to send to Congress. These letters will be advocating for an end to US military aid to Israel and a ceasefire in Gaza, call to the federal government to end the war in Ukraine, end the embargo on Cuba, and promote peace on other foreign affairs issues.

We need volunteers to take shifts on Labor Day, September 2, 2024, from 12:00 – 2:00 pm and 2:00 – 4:00 pm. (set up volunteers from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM also needed)

There is ample parking, contact us for details.  We’ll organize rides from the Boston area.  You also take the MBTA commuter rail from North Station.
