Reconstructionists Expanding Our Conversation on Israel-Palestine invites Jewish progressives to come together to connect with one another, share concerns, and build community at this time of war. These groups are for people who identify as Jewish and fit into the particular cohort. We are happy to create additional groups if there is a demand.
All groups are at 8:00 p.m. Eastern, 7:00 p.m. Central, 5:00 p.m. Pacific.
Multi-Generational Jews - February 5
Facilitated by Professor Sue Lanser - email lanser@brandeis.edu for the link.
Reconstructionists Expanding Our Conversation on Israel-Palestine is an independent project organized by rabbis and laypeople and co-sponsored by several Reconstructionist congregations – Congregation Shaarei Shamayim, Havurah Shalom Israel/Palestine Committee, Kadima Reconstructionist Community, Kol Tzedek, Mishkan Shalom, Or Haneshamah, and Or Shalom Jewish Community. We embrace the Reconstructionist movement’s values of justice (tzedek), compassion (chesed), and the dignity of all human life (b’tselem Elohim). Our embrace of these values leads us to oppose Israel’s domination of the Palestinian people. We hope this series will expand our understanding of historical and present-day conditions in Israel/Palestine and strengthen our commitment to a just future. All are welcome to join us in learning and listening with open hearts and minds. To learn more please email expandingourconversation@gmail.com.
Organizers: Joel Beinin, Sue Lanser, Rabbi Laurie Zimmerman, Rabbi Brian Walt, Diana Ralph, Marcy Boroff, and Rabbi Rebecca Zimmerman-Hornstein
