That all changed—again—in October 2023. As the cycle of violence and pain escalates, reaching levels of loss and horror that for many have been unimaginable, many of us find ourselves asking, “Will there ever be an end to the suffering and the losses? Will the people of the land ever achieve a lasting peace based on equality and a future of dignity for both peoples?”

Omar Razzaz is a Jordanian politician who served as the 42nd Prime Minister of Jordan from June, 2018 to October 12, 2020. Born in Al-Salt, Razzaz began his schooling in Amman, later continuing his studies abroad. He has been director of several national and international institutions and Minister of Education before his designation as Prime Minister.
