About the Film
The Gaza Strip is 28 miles long, and 3-7 miles wide crammed with an overflowing population of 1.7 million people (as of 2009), imprisoned, unable to move due to mechanisms of apartheid imposed by the Israeli Government. In January 2009, Israel’s air and ground forces entered Gaza, an incursion called “Operation Cast Lead,” (also known as the Gaza Massacre) where 3 weeks of heavy shelling, civilian executions, and experiments with white phosphorus rocked the small stretch of land, resulting in 1,400 Palestinian deaths.
