Learn more about the impact of forced displacement on Palestinian families, followed by a discussion on recent developments in Sheikh Jarrah with the film's protagonist, Mohammed El Kurd, and our Director of Education and Outreach in Palestine and the film's producer, Rula Salameh. The conversation will be moderated by Just Vision's Executive Director, Suhad Babaa.
Just Vision’s 2012 short film, My Neighbourhood, documents the story of Mohammed El Kurd, a Palestinian boy whose family was forced to give up part of their home in Sheikh Jarrah to Israeli settlers over a decade ago. The film chronicles the resolve of the neighborhood and the inspiring protest movement that brought together Palestinian, Israeli and international activists to support the community. In response to the latest eviction order, Mohammed, who is now 22 years-old and studying in the US, is organizing again to protect his family and neighbors, this time from his apartment in New York City.
