The speakers will be Rabea Eghbariah (Harvard Law School, Lawyer at Adalah), Noam Shuster-Eliassi (Fellow at the Harvard Divinity School and comedian), Hanna Alshaikh (researcher of Arab and Palestinian intellectual history in the joint History and Middle Eastern Studies PhD program), and Jehad Abusalim (from NYU and American Friends Service Committee - AFSC).
Description: While formal attempts to resolve the conflict take a top-down approach, they remain unimaginative as they obscure the visions of those on the ground for whom this conflict is an everyday reality. By moving beyond the formal paradigm of conflict resolution, this discussion attempts to center the concept of “homeland” as it is imagined by the speakers themselves and how that might provoke alternative modalities for building durable peace. This event will bring younger voices from multiple perspectives within Israel/Palestine.
Location: Cabot 7th floor, The Fletcher School, Tufts University. 160 Packard Avenue, Medford, MA 02155-7082
