After we screen her documentary, Voices Across the Divide, Dr. Alice Rothchild (the Co-Director) will discuss the film and can update us on other topics as time permits.
Alice Rothchild is a physician, author, and filmmaker who has focused her interest in human rights and social justice on the Israel/Palestine conflict since 1997. She is on the board of the Gaza Mental Health Foundation and Just World Education, and is an active member of Jewish Voice for Peace and its Health Advisory Council.
Alice writes and lectures widely and has authored three books: Broken Promises, Broken Dreams: Stories of Jewish and Palestinian Trauma and Resilience; On the Brink: Israel and Palestine on the Eve of the 2014 Gaza Invasion; and Condition Critical: Life and Death in Israel/Palestine.
Born in Boston, Alice was a practicing physician (ob-gyn) for almost 40 years. Until her retirement she served as Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Harvard Medical School. She now lives in Seattle and is currently working on a middle grade children’s book and a young adult graphic novel.
