βπ’ WE FIGHT BACK
The unelected Rent Guidelines Board β with members directly appointed by landlord Mayor Eric Adams β is trying to raise rent on the two million rent-stabilized tenants in New York City for the fourth year in a row. This increase would also mean rent will have gone up 17% on stabilized apartments since 2022.
Meanwhile, Republicans passed their βOne Big Beautiful Billβ through the House May 22, and it now goes to the Senate for consideration. The sweeping budget bill pairs deep cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and federal worker pensions with massive tax breaks for the rich.
Now more than ever, we need to build a militant working-class movement to combat the ruling classβs attacks on housing and vital programs we working people rely on to survive. Join us at our weekly organizing meeting to build that movement with us!
