Please join Books Not Bombs general meeting Thursday Sept 4, 6:00 - 7:00 pm (Eastern):
The federal Dept of Education cuts will impact every school district in the nation. Though the national organizations of teachers and educators are mobilized to resist, parents lack statewide or national organizations and rarely pay attention to Congressional funding programs. Books not Bombs is an effort to leverage the support of the NEA, AFT and AAUP, to reach out to advocacy groups - for example Our Revolution chapters and Peace Action affiliates whose members include parents, students, grandparents. This Committee is primarily, though not exclusively, a MA Committee (of the Mass Peace Action Education Fund), but the Forum has national reach.
