Jakhi McCray - Plan Actions to Free Jakhi on his 22nd Birthday, Sept 26-28:

On July 21, 2025, Jakhi McCray - a 21 year old Black organizer - turned himself in to the New York Police Department following a month long federal manhunt for him on allegations that he set fire to ten NYPD vehicles. Jakhi now faces 5 to 20 years in federal prison on charges of federal arson. This is not Jakhi’s first experience with state repression – since October of 2023, Jakhi was arrested over 11 times as he protested for a Free Palestine and an end to the genocide in Gaza, as well as for ICE-free communities. Jakhi is currently under house arrest awaiting trial, and for his 22nd birthday we are joining the call for a Weekend of Action to Free Jakhi and Drop The Charges, September 26-28th.
