9/21 (Online) 7pm - Legislative Training with Together for an Inclusive Massachusetts (TIM)

September 21, 7:00 PM EDT - Zoom

Legislative Training with Together for an Inclusive MA

ACTION 1: Testify at the 9/25 Antisemitism Commission meeting
(9/22 @ 1pm deadline)
- The next meeting of the Antisemitism Commission is scheduled for September 25th starting @ 11am at the State House and will probably go on until 5 or 6pm. It will also be live streamed here. This is the Commission’s second public comment opportunity.

ACTION 2: Register for TIM’s legislative training (9/21 or 9/23)

ACTION 3:  Sign up to meet with your State Legislators (9/25)

ACTION 4: Organize a Teach-In in your Community

The Commission’s second public comment session will be an opportunity for constituents to come to the State House. If you plan to come to the State House for the Commission meeting, take this opportunity to also knock on our legislators’ doors (anytime between 10am and 3pm) and flood them with a unified message:

It is vitally important to address antisemitism and stand up for Jewish safety in an inclusive way. I want you to hear directly from me on why we must address antisemitism in a way that protects Jewish people through solidarity with, not in opposition to, other marginalized communities… our fight is one fight.

Are you able to join us and commit to having a brief conversation with your Senator and Representative?

We’ve seen from what’s happening at the federal level: schools are the first battleground where the right to learn, the right to free speech, the right to speak out for Palestinian rights, the right to be Jewish and have an opinion that diverges from predominant US foreign policy all get tested. This is a critical moment for us to show up and let legislators know that we, their constituents, are paying attention and we won’t stand by while a national campaign to chill free speech, dismantle civil liberties, and curb progressive organizing comes to Massachusetts.

Invite a friend or family member to join you!

Whether this is your first lobbying event or your tenth, we need your voice! If you’ve never spoken to your legislators before, it can be intimidating, but don’t worry! We’ll be with you every step of the way, providing talking points, tips, and support.

TIM will host two special training sessions to prepare you for meeting with your legislators: September 21st or September 23rd at 7pm. The training is open to those planning to meet with their legislators on the 25th or on their own time.

As you prepare for your legislative meetings, you should be aware of the Commission chairs’ false portrayal of our activism that you may want to address directly with your legislators.

Register for TIM’s legislative training (9/21 or 9/23)
