Bees, in many cultures, have been considered gateways to the spirit world, carrying stories of life and death, grief and big changes between worlds, but we imagine that bees also carry stories from place to place as they fly & forage through THIS world. In July's "Bees, Land, & Liberation" webinar, Mohammad spoke about how in Palestine, freedom of movement is increasingly restricted for people, but bees can still move freely, over walls, through checkpoints, crossing borders, they cannot be held back. As he spoke, we pictured bees flying into and out of Gaza, and around different parts of the West Bank, carrying and spreading stories, like pollen, sharing news and continuing to be a connecter between places that have been forcibly disconnected.
Next Sunday, September 21st, at 8:30 Palestine Time/1:30 Eastern Time, the beekeepers will be the ones sharing stories about their life on the ground in Palestine.
"Storytime from Palestine" Bees, Land & Liberation is a 30 minute (note: updated info states at least 1 hour) informal session that will include a short time for Q & A. We hope to offer these sessions regularly to amplify the voices and experiences of our colleagues & their communities.
Live Spanish interpretation will be available for this event. (Shoutout to MARB Language Services!)
Register at Meeting Registration - Zoom, and please bring a friend or five, share with a colleague or a neighbor, host a watch party, or amplify in your own creative way.
We take inspiration from the collective nature of the bees and know that we all have a role to play in the liberation of Palestine & beyond, so bring your people and let's all find our roles!
