9/15 - 21 - Block the Bombs Week of Action

Block the Bombs Week of Action September 15-21

The National Days of Action to Block the Bombs to Israel builds on escalating pressure this summer, from No Kings Day and Good Trouble Lives On actions, emergency protests against the illegal Israeli and US bombings of Iran, ongoing actions to end the genocide in Gaza, and bird-dogging members of Congress over the August recess. See the summer/fall grassroots organizing toolkit and a list of actions and other powerful resources.

This campaign is an example of a way to heed the call of the BDS National Movement. Actions today and every day should  push our members of Congress to support H.R. 3565, to Block the Bombs to Israel, now featuring 39 co-sponsors. While not a total arms embargo on Israel (it does not prohibit anti-missile systems, for example), the bill would prohibit transfers of U.S. weapons systems Israel has used in its genocide against the people of Gaza. It is, however, the first time in history that Congress has worked to proactively halt offensive weapons to Israel.

Take action today, and get congregants to join you, with this petition sponsored by the Palestinian-led Institute for Middle East Understanding. Can you send this link to five people in your congregation today? Can you talk this up during refreshment time after worship?

Take a moment right now to sign on and urge your members of Congress to support the Block the Bombs Act to help end U.S. complicity in the genocide in Gaza.
