WAWOG Presents 15th of July Town Hall
PHILLY (Register here)
by Writers Against the War on Gaza (WAWOG)
PHILLY: After a weekend where America celebrates its independence, displacing the memory and reality of its status as a settler colony, we come together to reaffirm our collective commitment to fighting for Palestinian liberation and against U.S. fascism and imperialism.
As we prepare for a long, hot summer, join us for Philly WAWOG’s 15th of July Town Hall on Tuesday, July 15 from 6–9 PM at Calvary Center (801. S. 48th Street, Philadelphia). The event is co-sponsored by Philly Tenant’s Union, Penn Against the Occupation, Philly Socialists, and Philly DSA. After over 600 days of the Zionist genocide in Gaza, programming will focus on current developments on the ground, the violent dispossession of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, and how the forces of displacement can be disrupted in Philadelphia through the housing struggle. Join us for open discussion, workshops, readings, and teach-ins that will sharpen our analyses, hone our strategies and tactics, and strengthen our resolve.
Registration is free in the link in our bio. Suggested $20 cash or venmo donation at door. 100% of proceeds will benefit @camp.ofhope , a Palestinian-led grassroots aid initiative providing water, meals, and tents to displaced Palestinians in Gaza. Food and beverages will be provided. Face masks will be provided and required. Free childcare provided by @phillychildcarecollective .
