Palestinian children continue to face grave violations of their rights. Every year, 500β700 children are detained and prosecuted in Israeli military courts that lack fundamental safeguards for a fair trial. The use of administrative detentionβimprisonment without charge or trialβhas quadrupled in the past year alone, leaving children in indefinite, traumatic conditions with no legal clarity or emotional relief.
Join this critical discussion co-organised by Defence for Children International (DCI), where we bring together:
πΉ Francesca Albanese β UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian Territories occupied since 1967
πΉ Khaled Quzmar β General Director, DCI-Palestine
πΉ Moderated by Alex Kamarotos β Executive Director, DCI
This side event marks the launch of the Roadmap for Action 2025β2030, building on the UN Global Study on Children Deprived of Liberty and the outcomes of the 2024 Global Conference. It aims to move from recognition to real, systemic change.
Children deserve protection, not prison. Letβs reimagine justice together.
