Stop ICE Abductions and Block the Bombs with Mahmoud Khalil and Congresswoman Delia Ramirez
Join us (IMEU Policy Project) next Tuesday for a critical conversation with Congresswoman Delia Ramirez, who introduced the first bill in US history to proactively block major weapons to Israel – H.R. 3565, the Block the Bombs Act. The bill would prevent President Trump from sending Israel the types of weapons it has used repeatedly to commit apparent war crimes against Palestinians through its genocide in Gaza.
We will also be joined by Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University graduate and outspoken advocate for Palestinian human rights.
In March, Mahmoud was effectively kidnapped by plainclothes federal agents and wrongfully detained for over 100 days without charge because of his advocacy against the ongoing genocide. Mahmoud was imprisoned, held in one of the worst ICE detention facilities in the country, and forced to miss the birth of his child because of the weaponization of ICE against people speaking up against genocide. Despite the ongoing intimidation tactics used by the government, he has remained steadfast in his advocacy for Palestinian human rights.

The conversation will explore the deep connections between attacks on migrants in the U.S., the weaponization of ICE against people speaking up against the genocide, and U.S. participation in Israel’s military occupation and genocide.
In addition to Congresswoman Ramirez and Mahmoud Khalil, we will be joined by two policy experts: Pedro Ríos, Director of the American Friends Service Committee’s U.S./Mexico Border Program, and Brad Parker, Associate Director of Policy at the Center for Constitutional Rights.
We hope that you’ll be able to join us for this important conversation and learn how you can get your Member of Congress to support the Block the Bombs Act.
Our thanks to the cosponsors of this webinar: American Friends Service Committee, US Campaign for Palestinian Rights Action, Center for Constitutional Rights, Jewish Voice for Peace Action, ADC, IfNotNow, and Friends Committee on National Legislation
Sincerely,
Amira Hassan, Government Relations Director
