There is an urgent crisis in the West Bank including East Jerusalem, with an alarming 84 Palestinian schools facing demolition orders. On July 1st, the Ishkara community’s K-4 school “The Palestine Primary Co-Ed School” in the South Hebron Hills received a 7-day demolition order— putting the 140 students it serves at risk.

On June 17th, an order by the Military Commander of the West Bank declared that the military needs Firing Zone 918 for training, and that all the structures — including homes, schools and clinics —are obstacles to their military needs. This makes all five schools in Masafer Yatta vulnerable to demolition.

Congress can intervene, but they will be more likely to act if they hear from constituents.

We have a distinguished team of Israeli, Palestinian, and American lawyers, zoning-planners, human rights defenders, and activists— one of whom will be the guest speaker on the call to describe what is happening to the Palestinian schools and communities in the West Bank including East Jerusalem.
