E4P Webinar: Palestine in Films & Media- Conversation with Watermelon Pictures

Cinema isn’t just about what’s on a screen; it’s about whose voices get heard. For Palestinian filmmakers, that means navigating an industry that often sidelines their stories, balancing political truth with commercial survival, and finding ways for all of us -viewers, creators, funders- to help those stories break through.

On July 14th, Entrepreneurs for Palestine (E4P) will host a powerful conversation in collaboration with Tech For Palestine (T4P), featuring Watermelon Pictures, the production label behind impactful works such as The Encampments. Co-founders Badie Ali and Hamza Ali bring decades of experience in independent film distribution, paired with a mission to amplify Palestinian voices at a moment when silence is complicity.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • The journey behind Watermelon Pictures: why two industry insiders chose to launch a label rooted in cultural resistance and storytelling sovereignty.

  • What shapes the global narrative about Palestine: the choices filmmakers make, and the structural barriers they face.

  • How you can move the dial: from supporting co-productions and festival submissions, to sharing content and funding new works.

Because film isn’t just entertainment.

It documents, disrupts, and dares us to see Palestinians beyond headlines — as people with humor, love, art, and agency. So, whether you’re a filmmaker, activist, or just tired of one-sided stories, join us. Let’s talk about what it takes to get these stories heard.
