Please join us to discuss the Second Person Singular (2010) by the acclaimed Palestinian Israeli novelist, screenwriter, and columnist Sayed Kashua. Published in Hebrew as גוף שני יחיד (Guf Sheni Yachid) and in English as both Second Person Singular and Exposure, Kashua’s award-winning novel weaves together the intersecting stories of a Palestinian lawyer suspicious of his wife, and a Palestinian social worker turned art student who “becomes” a Jew. This is also the fascinating story of a Jerusalem where identities collide and collude and where assimilation is at once a desire and a threat.
