π¨ ACTION FOR GAZA: FRIDAY JUNE 27! π¨
On Friday June 27th at 6 pm, join Jews, Palestinians, and others committed to Palestinian solidarity in Columbus Circle in downtown DC as we observe Shabbat and call on Congress to STOP STARVING GAZA.
2 million people in Gaza are still living in famine, first declared in March. Little to no aid has entered Gaza in the last seventy days. This past week, we are seeing some of the deadliest days at aid distribution sites, with over 350 killed at so-called humanitarian centers run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, a shadowy organization run by Israel and backed by the U.S. Gazans are being lured into waiting in line to feed their starving families, only to be met with deadly force by mercenaries. Meanwhile, Israel has launched an unprovoked attack in Iran, killing hundreds, and thus redirected critical news coverage from their forced starvation and massacres in Gaza.
We are also excited to announce our amazing speakers: @nurse_lana, an American nurse who bore witness working in Gaza hospitals, Fadi Abushammala, head of @donkeysaddleorg, and Philip Farah, a Palestinian Christian who helped found the Palestinian Christian Alliance for Peace.
Itβs up to us to keep Gaza front and center, and spread the message: Let Gaza Live! Stop Starving Gaza! Stop Arming Israel! Divest from Genocide! No war with Iran!
Please RSVP so we can be sure to send you important updates and a chat link for day-of communications. Stop Starving Gaza! JVP-DC Metro Shabbat Ritual & Action
