We are excited to announce the launch of Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME's) new Lobby Corps, a network of committed advocates working to push Canada toward a just stance on Palestine and tackle anti-Palestinian racism in Canada.
Join us for our first Lobby Corps onboarding session on Thursday, June 26 at 7:00 PM EST. We’ll introduce the program, outline how you can get involved, and help you take your first step into political advocacy for Palestine.
It’s been just under two months since election day. We have a new Parliament — and a new political landscape. Thanks to the tireless work of advocates and activists, Palestine broke into the mainstream. Seventeen Liberal MPs who endorsed the Vote Palestine platform were elected — 10% of the governing party — alongside six NDP and one Green MP who proudly support Palestinian human rights.
But this new government has yet to define itself. Prime Minister Carney issued a joint statement with France and the UK condemning Israel’s assault on Gaza and threatening sanctions — a notable shift. Yet he continues to enable repression at home through bubble zone legislation targeting protests, and still refuses to impose a full, two-way arms embargo by closing the U.S. loophole. Troublingly, he has even expressed support for Israel's unilateral and illegal attack on Iran.
This is a moment of possibility — and of urgency. We must act now to shape the direction of this government and show that standing for Palestinian human rights is the path forward.
That’s why we’re launching CJPME’s Lobby Corps — a national network of trained volunteers ready to meet with MPs and demand real action: an arms embargo, sanctions, and an end to Canada’s complicity in genocide, occupation, and apartheid.
What’s the CJPME Lobby Corps?
CJPME’s Lobby Corps is a committed network of volunteers working to influence political leaders—locally, provincially, and federally. With the ongoing genocide in Gaza and increasing repression of Palestine advocacy in Canada, direct engagement with decision-makers has never been more urgent.
This is an opportunity to:
Hold decision-makers accountable for their positions on Palestine
Develop advocacy skills with professional training & mentorship
Be part of a national movement demanding action for Palestine
We provide training, resources, and guidance so that you feel confident in speaking to politicians and influencing change. No prior experience is necessary—just a commitment to justice and human rights.
Click here to register for our first 1-hour online onboarding session on Thursday, June 26, which is your first step toward joining the Lobby Corps. The session will also cover other ways that you can volunteer with CJPME. Trainings are only in English for now, but you can volunteer and communicate to MPs in French.
Can you help fund this project?
The Lobby Corps represents a major expansion of our parliamentary work. If you support what we are doing to build our advocacy network and train volunteers to lobby for Palestinian rights, please consider making a gift of financial support to CJPME. Our work depends entirely on private donations. Monthly donations are especially helpful, as they sustain our ongoing work and make it easier for us to strategize for the future. If you don't like to donate by credit card, you may donate via email transfer, over the phone (438-380-5410), or complete and mail in this form.
Thank you,
Saeed Naguib, National Organizer, CJPME
