Dr. Rajai will talk about Physicians for Palestine’s recently launched project, Prosthetics For Palestine, which primarily targets Gaza’s amputees that now exceed 10,000. Dr. Khoury will describe the types of volunteers and expertise they are seeking (onsite & virtual).

Dr. Rajai Khoury Bio:
Born in Ramallah Palestine in 1950, Dr. Rajai’s education includes attending Friends School Ramallah, undergraduate studies (biology /chemistry) at American University of Beirut (AUB), and at their Medical school. Also, general and Thoracic surgery at West Virginia University (WVU). He is Board certified in general and thoracic surgery, venous and lymphatic diseases and RPVI. He has had his private practice for 40 years and is currently employed by WVU. He has served on the boards of multiple hospital medical groups, medical societies and charitable organizations.
He has served as a medical volunteer since 1972 and has worked with volunteer groups for over forty years, recently organized under the name Physicians for Palestine (PFPAL). PFPAL has carried out multiple medical projects in Palestine including: a vascular surgery and health, women’s health, pathology lab, pulmonary function lab, and peritoneal dialysis service. PFPAL continues to support these projects as well as telemedicine and educational activities in Palestine.
Since the recent and ongoing war on Gaza, PFPAL has adopted a grassroots project for long term commitment to produce and manage prosthetics for Gaza and the West Bank.
