Pentecost Witness for a Moral Budget - From Fear to Courage, From the Upper Room to the Streets
This Sunday, Christians around the world celebrate Pentecost, the birthday of the Church. You’ve heard the story before: the apostles were in the upper room, afraid, but were filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit, allowing them to preach the Good News to strangers in their native tongues.
With that same zeal and spirit, we’ll be joining faith leaders at the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday, June 10th to speak out against the House’s big bad budget bill that would decimate the social safety net and increase funding for immigration detainment and deportation.
Will you join me at the Capitol to speak out in opposition to this big, bad, budget bill?
Together, we will join in community to lift our voices with the most vulnerable, including our neighbors who rely on lifesaving programs like Medicaid and SNAP. And the more people that join us, the more we will be able to ensure that those on Capitol Hill hear our prophetic call.
