JVP Boston's June Chapter Meeting: "Where you go, I will go" - The Jewish Tradition of Collective Liberation

Following a three-month complete blockade on Gaza, Israel has allowed a minuscule amount of humanitarian aid to trickle in. UN Secretary-General Guterres called this a “teaspoon of aid when a flood of assistance is required.”

As described in the most recent issue of the Wire, this is by design: Israel wants to quiet international outrage against its starvation campaign, buying time to complete its ethnic cleansing of Gaza. In Netanyahu’s own words, “Without international backing, we won’t be able to complete the mission of victory. We need to do it in a way that they won’t stop us.”

This “mission of victory” is the total destruction of Gaza. Israel’s finance minister Smotrich said so explicitly: “Just as we leveled Rafah, we will level all of Gaza.” And just this weekend, Israel targeted a school-turned-shelter in an airstrike that killed at least 36 people.

In a moment like this, it is easy to sink into despair. But we owe it to our Palestinian siblings to act.

Please join us at the JVP Boston Chapter Meeting on June 1 as we work together toward collective liberation and learn about the history of Jewish resistance to Zionism. And join our partner organizations for actions online and all around Boston: fighting to end Big Tech’s complicity in genocide, supporting Harvard students who spoke out against genocide, and rallying together to call for an end to the starvation and bombardment of Gaza.

In solidarity,
JVP Boston Chapter Council
