6/1 (in person, Brunswick ME) 3-5pm - Empty Pot Protest: Stand in Solidarity with the Ongoing Hunger Strike for Gaza (Maine Coalition 4 Palestine)

Empty Pot Protest

Join Maine Coalition for Palestine on Sunday, June 1st from 3-5 pm in Brunswick at Maine & Potter Street to stand in solidarity with the ongoing hunger strike for Gaza.

40 Mainers are on a 250-calorie per day hunger strike or dawn-to-dusk fast for 40 days to protest the ongoing forced starvation of Palestinians in Gaza by Israel and the US. It has been over 600 days since the beginning of the genocide in Gaza and over 3 months since Israel has allowed any food, medicine or water to reach Gazans. It is estimated that people in Gaza are being forced to survive on less than 250 calories every 2-3 days. We will gather in Brunswick to demand that our representatives, including Senator Angus King, lead the effort to allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza overseen by the UN, and to enact an embargo on all sales of arms to Israel.
