This Friday @ UMass! Emergency Screening of the Pro-Palestinian Film that UCLA Riot Police Shut Down Last Week
EMERGENCY SCREENING!
THE ENCAMPMENTS - Inside America's Student Uprising
Last week at UCLA, police in riot gear broke up a peaceful screening of the acclaimed documentary The Encampments, a film about the pro-Palestinian student protests and subsequent police crackdowns that gripped American college campuses as Israel accelerated its war on Gaza in 2024.
To show solidarity with these UCLA students and to push back against mounting attacks on free speech on college campuses and beyond, an emergency screening of The Encampments will be held at UMass-Amherst this Friday night, May 9, at 7 p.m., in Thompson Hall Room 106.
This event is co-sponsored by Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), Faculty for Justice in Palestine (FSJP), Graduate Employee Organization Palestinian Solidarity Caucus (GEO-PSC), Interlink Books, and the Media Education Foundation (MEF).
