Together for an Inclusive Massachusetts (TIM) is excited to share that the National Lawyers Guild - MA Chapter will be honoring our work to advocate for state policies that align with the state’s large progressive, anti-Zionist, and non-Zionist communities, and that protect the rights of those protesting Israel's actions in Palestine at their 2025 Annual Testimonial Dinner on Friday, May 16th at 6pm (@ Arts at the Armory in Somerville)
Please join us at this event to recognize the work that each and every member of TIM is doing and to support an organization that has been instrumental in defending our rights as well. We invite you to join us by purchasing tickets (in person and online available - unknown whether online is reduced price or free). If you are unable to attend, please consider donating to support their work.
You have probably heard about “the lawyers” supporting our movement and they have quite likely been NLG-MA attorneys. NLG-MA has provided legal representation to protestors for decades. NLG-MA attorneys have witnessed a pattern of policing that has focused almost exclusively on pro-Palestine protestors and pro-Israel protestors are rarely, if ever, arrested for “disorderly conduct” for similar or worse behavior.
NLG-MA defends the rights of progressive activists in the courts and in the streets.
If you have ever taken part in a demonstration or encampment, the activists leading the event have probably been trained by the NLG in advance.
At the event, those folks in the lime green hats are NLG Legal Observers, who document everything that takes place.
And if you, or anyone you know has been arrested for your activism, or even if you have just read news accounts about people getting arrested at demonstrations and encampments, most likely they were represented by free defense lawyers provided by the NLG's Mass Defense Committee. One of our 2025 co-honorees, Rachel Weber, is part of the legal team that has represented — for free — over 180 UMass Amherst students, faculty & staff arrested for their defense of Palestinian human rights.
Most recently, the NLG created a Resistance Committee to address attacks not only on anti-genocide activists, but also the immigrant, trans, and other vulnerable communities.
Given NLG's long and deep contributions to progressive activism, it is a particular honor for our coalition, Together for an Inclusive Massachusetts, to receive this honor from NLG. Please join us in celebrating this honor by purchasing a ticket or making a donation to NLG-MA
In solidarity,
