No Tech For Apartheid Campaign - Screening of UNION
NEW YORK CITY—Join us at @anthologyfilmarchives on May 12 @ 7:30 pm for a screening of UNION. In spring 2022, workers at an Amazon fulfillment center in Staten Island made history: they voted to form the first ever labor union at the tech giant. Following their fight from the beginning, UNION is an intimate portrait of the people, connections, and commitment that brought together thousands of workers without the support of major labor unions or politicians. The film documents collective action in triumph — over division, defeatism, and perceived impossibility.
The screening will be followed by a discussion focused on the centrality of labor in the struggle against imperialism, featuring members of @notechforapartheid, @amazonlaborunion, @unionthefilm, and @cuny4palestine. 100% of ticket proceeds will benefit @thesameerproject, an initiative led by diaspora Palestinians working to supply emergency shelter and aid to families in Gaza; and @palshield, which supports farming communities in the West Bank through the provision of life-saving medical supplies, protective gear, and training programs against settler attacks.
