Dr. Rosemarie M. Esber is an oral historian and a social scientist. She has conducted oral history projects about the 1948 Palestinian Nakba; Arab Americans of the Southern United States; and with White House Arab-American journalist Helen Thomas. Dr. Esber is the author of Under the Cover of War: The Zionist Expulsion of the Palestinians and has published articles in various print and online journals. Her current research focuses on Eleanor Roosevelt and Palestine.
She was a Fulbright Scholar in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, a CAORC Fellow to Jordan and Lebanon, and an AIMS Fellow to Morocco. She earned degrees from the University of London–School of Oriental and African Studies, The Johns Hopkins University–The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, and Marietta College. She is a resident of Alexandria, Virginia.
