🔻In honor of the 77+ year long plight and struggle for liberation of the Palestinian people, PAL-Awda calls for Days of Action across the country in response to calls from Gaza, in protest of the settler colony’s intentional starvation of the people of Gaza, and in honor of the freedom fighters and martyrs of Gaza and all of Palestine.

“NAKBA” [meaning “disaster” in Arabic], commemorated on May 15th, is the genocide and ethnic cleansing of indigenous Palestinians from historic Palestinian lands which began months before the settler colony declared independence in May of 1948. During the NAKBA of 1948, zionist occupation forces and settler militias brutally murdered over 15,000 Palestinians and expelled 750,000+ Palestinians from their homes. The zionist state was established on what had been “British-ruled Palestine” [the collusion for which started before 1916] and displaced Palestinians were expelled from their original homes and many were forced into the Gaza Strip.

The zionist project destroyed 70% of [over 530] Palestinian towns and villages and stole 78% of Palestinian land during the NAKBA of 1948.

For more than 77 years, displaced Palestinians have demanded a “right of return” or “huq al awda” position that the US armed and funded zionist entity rejects. In Gaza today, the families of originally displaced Palestinians of 1948 are being murdered, starved, and, again displaced in the ongoing genocide.

WE DEMAND AN END TO THE OCCUPATION, full liberation, and the right of return for all Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and around the world to their original lands and homes.
