April 28, 1:30 PM EDT (7:30 PM Berlin) - Zoom
Arne Andersen: “Apartheid in Israel – Taboo in Germany?”
Arne Andersen will speak: based on his book "Apartheid in Israel – Taboo in Germany?", published at the end of 2024, he will guide the audience on a journey through the history, present, and future of Palestine. Using numerous images and maps, he traces the ideas of political Zionism from Theodor Herzl's 1896 book "The Jewish State" to the present day. For him, there is a continuity from the end of the 19th century to the present.
He will also address the debate in Germany that considers it "state-reasonable" to brand any criticism of Israel as antisemitic and thus place the non-violent idea of the BDS movement, which emerged from Palestinian civil society, outside of democratic discourse. For him, the two-state solution is obsolete; homogeneous societies do not fit into the 21st century. He therefore advocates a one-state solution.
We look forward to your participation in the Zoom lecture with Dr. Arne Andersen on Monday, April 28, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. (Berlin time) (Registration is not required)
