NEW YORK: Join us for a panel, letter writing, and Know Your Rights training to commemorate Palestinian Prisoners Day, honor the steadfast struggle of our prisoners and reaffirm our collective commitment to resistance and liberation.
The liberation of our prisoners has always been at the forefront of the Palestinian struggle. For over 75 years, Zionist prisons have sought to crush the Palestinian revolution, but our prisoners remain steadfast in their commitment to struggle. As the occupation wages a brutal campaign of mass imprisonment, torture, and murder, and repression intensifies here in the imperial core, centering the prisoners’ struggle is more urgent than ever.
📆 Saturday April 19th @ 12pm-4pm
📍MAS Youth Center, 1933 Bath Ave, Brooklyn
This event will feature a discussion that includes a number of different organizations across New York City and Palestine fighting against carceral projects here in the belly of the beast and at home. The panel will feature members of Plaza Proleteria, the RAPP Campaign, Rasanbleman Pou Ayiti, Youth Against Displacement, and Basil Farraj, a professor at Birzeit University researching global carcerality and resistance. Afterwards, there will be a Know Your Rights training conducted in both English and Arabic, as well as a chance to write letters to incarcerated folk here in New York and to purchase materials from the participating organizations. There will be food and drink provided.
