From IfNotNow - On March 21, over 1,000 Jews and allies rallied outside of ICE offices in New York to demand freedom for Mahmoud Khalil.
Together, we raised our voices to denounce the Trump regime’s authoritarian agenda. We sang, we chanted, and we committed to taking action by organizing our Jewish communities to resist. And we’re not stopping there: we need to bring our people with us.
On the call, we’ll hear stories from Jewish leaders who are mobilizing their own communities to resist. We’ll also provide action items and toolkits so you can start organizing your own community, too.
The MAGA regime is seeing how far they can go with their authoritarian crackdown. They abducted Mahmoud Khalil for exercising free speech. They’re planning to expand this political repression through deportations and travel bans. Next week, the Senate will hold hearings on Trump’s nominee for Ambassador to Israel: the antisemitic Christian Zionist Mike Huckabee.
It’s all part of the right’s Project Esther strategy: an explicit plan to dismantle civil society — starting with the Palestinian rights movement — while cynically claiming it’s in the name of Jewish safety. It’s up to us to deny them our complicity.
On March 21, thousands of Jews said NO. Not in our name. You can, too. Join us by signing up for our national organizing call right now.
Let’s be clear: Political repression puts all of us in danger. Many of our ancestors suffered under authoritarian regimes, and we refuse to allow the MAGA agenda to dismantle our freedoms in the name of fighting antisemitism.
As members of synagogues, congregations, day schools, summer camps, and other Jewish communities, we have a responsibility to ensure our community spaces unequivocally reject the MAGA agenda. We have a plan for how to resist — and we want you to be part of it.
Register for our national action call on Thursday, March 27 at 8PM ET / 5PM PT.
