3/20 (Online) 4pm - Community Safety Workshop (18 Million Rising & Nonviolent Peaceforce)

March 20, 4:00 PM EDT - Online

Community Safety Workshop

by 18 Million Rising and Nonviolent Peaceforce

We’re seeing an aggressive attack on our immigrant and activist community. In just the past week, Columbia student activist Mahmoud Khalil was kidnapped and detained; a surgeon was detained after visiting her parents in Lebanon; and a Wisconsin Hmong mother was deported to Laos. Now, more than ever, we must take care of each other.

Even in states traditionally considered sanctuaries, we’re seeing an increasing number of anti-immigrant bills being introduced. From bills to ban immigration reform to attacks on sanctuary status, we have a duty to keep our immigrant communities safe.

This Thursday, March 20th, we’ll be joined by Nonviolent Peaceforce for a Community Safety workshop.

This public workshop provides a space for participants to learn how to intervene and apply Know Your Rights tools when they witness threats of violence or direct violence to their fellow community members. Participants leave this training with concrete tools to advocate for the safety of their communities.

This training will be hosted as a webinar. Participants will not be able to see the attendee list. They will only be able to see the hosts.

Skill up during this time of crisis and see you at Community Safety.
