Jamaica Plain for Palestine Weekly Standout and Meeting
BOSTON: Join us this Sunday, March 16th at 5 PM at Jamaica Plain for Palestine's Weekly Meeting featuring a reading & discussion of the Healthcare Edition of the New York War Crimes. Come early at 4pm with your keffiyehs and flags for a community standout before we gather inside.
The Healthcare Edition, created and distributed in collaboration between @wawog_now & @healthcareworkersforpalestine, is the fifteenth issue of the New York War Crimes and the first to be released since the ceasefire. In this issue, we honor the Palestinian healthcare workers who stood fast during fifteen months of escalating genocide, risking their lives to serve the patients they refused to abandon.
Among them is Dr. Ezzideen Shehab, author of the front-page essay "Refusing to Surrender to the Machine" and founder of the Al-Rahma Medical Center in Jabalia, Northern Gaza. Dr. Shehab will be graciously providing a reading of his essay and a Q&A with the audience. Due to ongoing communications difficulties in the Gaza Strip, please submit your questions for Dr. Shehab ahead of the event by Saturday, March 15th 12pm EST: https://tinyurl.com/nywcbosqa
We will be fundraising for @alrahma_mc during the evening. The free clinic was opened in December 2024 in response to the israeli siege of northern Gaza and the decimation of all its hospitals. Post-ceasefire, the desperate need for medical services has only increased following the return of thousands of displaced families to the North. As Gaza now suffers through the occupation's complete blockade of aid, your donations will support the clinic's purchase of essential medications and supplies needed for Palestinians to remain steadfast on their land.
