War is a money-maker for the global capitalist elite who seek to dominate and control the world. Using US military, economic power, technology, and control of information to enforce its hegemony, this ruling class has created a criminal racket relying on violence, indebtedness, deception, and secrecy to extract wealth from people and nations everywhere. This webinar will describe the nature and workings of this racket and how it continues to wreak chaos and destruction in its insatiable drive for profits. As we have seen in Haiti, Honduras, Libya, Palestine, in the US itself, and now in Ukraine, Syria, and East Asia, there are no limits to this imperialism. What are the prospects for dealing with this systemic cancer? What forms of resistance are, or might be, in play?

Matt Kennard is co-founder, and chief investigator, at Declassified UK, a news outlet investigating British foreign policy. He was a fellow and then director at the Centre for Investigative Journalism (CIJ) in London, UK. He has worked as a staff writer for the Financial Times in Washington, DC, New York, and London. He is the author of several acclaimed books including Irregular Army (2012), and co-author (with Claire Provost) of Silent Coup (2023).
