New York: Celebrating Elias Khoury and Mahmoud Darwish
Join Archipelago Books with Lost & Found: The CUNY Poetics Document Initiative in celebrating the lives and work of Elias Khoury (1948-2024) and Mahmoud Darwish (1941-2008), two of the most revered practitioners of Arab literature.
Both Darwish and Khoury were unwavering advocates for social justice and the Palestinian cause; the poets and translators Ammiel Alcalay and Sinan Antoon will come together to speak about their exceptionally rich lives and work.
This event will be held at CUNY Graduate Center. It is free and open to all and will have a reception to follow. The authors’ books will also be available at a discount.
