DEADLINE 3/14 - Attn Scholars, Researchers, Journalists and Writers - Tomorrow is the deadline to apply for an in-person workshop with MERIP at Villanova Univ in PA

Dear Friends and Comrades,

I'm writing today with a quick reminder that we (at the Middle East Research & Information Project - MERIP) will be hosting an in-person workshop with our partners at Villanova University’s Center for Arab and Islamic Studies on April 28. This workshop will be an opportunity for scholars, researchers, journalists, and writers who are interested in writing for a broader audience, and for MERIP specifically, to receive tailored, small-group feedback from MERIP Editors, and learn more about MERIP’s editorial style, mission, and place in the publishing ecosystem. The workshop will also feature a public Keynote Address from MERIP contributor and professor of Near Eastern Studies at NYU, Arang Keshavarzian. Applications to participate in this workshop are due TOMORROW, MARCH 14.

This workshop is open to writers at any level or institutional affiliation -- undergraduates, independent scholars, journalists, activists are all invited to apply. It will, however, be IN-PERSON ONLY, so please make sure you can travel to Villanova's campus, just outside Philadelphia, PA to be with us on April 28.

In Solidarity,

James Ryan
Executive Director, MERIP
