Historians for Peace and Democracy in collaboration with Convergence Magazine will be hosting a teach-in titled "Political Repression, Then and Now."

The webinar will discuss the history of political repression in the United States. The speakers will draw on their research and experiences to explore topics such as Jim Crow's repression against Black people, attacks on civil liberties, FBI surveillance, and the various Red Scares, linking these past examples to current attacks on social movements and civil rights.
The teach-in will feature speakers David Cole, Beverly Gage, Robin D.G. Kelley, and Ellen Schrecker and will be moderated by HPAD co-chair Margaret Power.
