The Oscar-nominated film “No Other Land” is being shown at Cape Cinema in Dennis (35 Hope Ln, Dennis, MA) on Saturday March 1st and Wednesday March 5th! This is very welcome news, as this film, despite the numerous awards it has received, has been shown at very few avant-garde cinemas. The reason is that no US film distributor has picked it up, due to its subject matter.
Tickets: No Other Land - Cape Cinema
This film is a moving documentary on the current ethnic cleansing in Palestine. It is educational and transformative. It is a collaboration between a Palestinian human rights activist and an Israeli journalist.
“For half a decade, Basel Adra, a Palestinian activist, films his community of Masafer Yatta being destroyed by Israel's occupation, as he builds an unlikely alliance with an Israeli journalist who wants to join his fight. No Other Land is an unflinching account of a community's mass expulsion and acts as a creative resistance to Apartheid and a search for a path towards equality and justice.”
Here are what some reviewers have said about the films:
“"No Other Land" is more than just a film—it’s a testament to resilience, storytelling, and the cultural richness of Palestine.”
“This is one of the most urgent and timely documentaries of the year, and arguably one of the best.”
