Virtual: Writing Gaza with Shahd Alnaami

Join Gaza-based writer Shahd A. Alnaami for an online Writers Rebel workshop on February 9.

Shahd A. Alnaami is a Palestinian writer, poet and journalist based in Central Gaza in the Maghazi Refugee Camp. She is also a student of English Literature and translation at the Islamic University of Gaza, currently living among the hardship of the genocide and trying to continue with her studies online as her university has been so badly damaged.

Her dream is to be granted a scholarship so that she can continue with her studies abroad. Shahd has written for We Are Not Numbers and Al-Jazeera amongst other platforms and in the past has contributed to Gaza Poets Society, a collective of poets from the region. She is a passionate advocate for literature, reading and libraries and the love for knowledge and education that runs deep in Palestinian culture.

Half of the funds from this workshop will go to Shahd A. Alnaami and the other half will go towards raising money for new books.
