Press Conference: CAIR-Georgia, Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Atlanta to File Civil Rights Complaint Against Fulton County School District
On Wednesday, Feb. 26, the Georgia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-GA) and Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Atlanta (Advancing Justice-Atlanta) plan to hold a press conference to announce the filing of a Federal Title VI Civil Rights complaint with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights against the Fulton County School District.
The complaint alleges that since October 2023 Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim students, along with their allies, have faced numerous racist, anti-Palestinian, xenophobic, and Islamophobic harassment and doxing incidents district wide. Fulton County School District’s inaction and failure to protect students constitutes a violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
