We would like to invite you to attend the first meeting of the Massachusetts statewide "Divest from Genocide" campaign. We attach the bill filed by Representative Erika Uyterhoeven in the Massachusetts State Legislature calling for divestment from companies selling weapons on Israel. We attached a copy of that bill so you can see how clear and strong it is. It would order the state pension fund (PRIM) to divest itself of the hundreds of millions of dollars worth of stock and other securities it holds in companies profiting from selling weapons for Israel's attack on Gaza and the West Bank. 

Now it's time to get started. This Zoom meeting on February 24 at 6:30pm will serve as the "launch" of the campaign. The three of us (Paul Shannon, Dan Mclaughlin and Nick Mottern), will briefly present the campaign plan and strategy and answer your questions. We will talk about first steps to open up this new front in our movement to support Palestinian dignity and to end the deadly connection between the U.S. and Israel's murder and occupation of the people of Palestine. While this effort will be characterized by direct action, outreach, mobilization and education, one of the first actions we need to take is for each of us to have a meeting or phone call with our own state representative to inform them of the bill and to seek their co-sponsorship. We will discuss this and other possible initiatives at that February 24 meeting.
