Saturday February 22 at 1:30pm - Saco downtown (Main St Bridge intersection of Main & Water Sts, connecting to Biddeford over Factory Island)
Bring your own signs and banners, or use ours
Maine made bombs kill innocent civilians! Stop the Killing Now!
note: This protest has its own entry because of the amount of information. The regular weekly Maine standouts are listed separately
Our statewide antiwar coalition will bring its monthly protest series to Saco in February. This protest is coordinated with the group holding regular stand outs at General Dynamics’ bomb factory in Saco, but will be held at a downtown location with the goal of exposing more people to our messages.
Currently a tenuous ceasefire in Gaza is holding, enabling exchanges of hostages on both sides. However, Zionist violence against populations in the West Bank has escalated dramatically, and U.S.-Israeli bombing continues in southern Lebanon. Netanyahu will be at the White House again this week while 47 caused riots in Rafah after announcing that Egypt (and Jordan) must prepare to accept displaced Gazans.
Since 47 took office the U.S. has again bombed “ISIS” in Somalia (while sponsoring them in Syria). But the U.S.-NATO war in Ukraine may be headed for a ceasefire as the new administration’s appetite for continuing that failed attempt to weaken Russia appears to be low.
Our demands:
Peace in Ukraine - No weapons, no money for the Ukraine War
Abolish NATO – End U.S. militarism & sanctions!
Fund people’s needs, not the war machine!
No war with China!
Protect Earth’s environment from the deadly insult of war!
End U.S. aid to racist apartheid Israel!
Fight racism & bigotry not war!
U.S. hands off Haiti!
End AFRICOM
