Paths to Liberation in Palestine & Lessons from South Africa
You are invited to join Quakers for Peace in Palestine & Israel for a zoom panel with Dov Baum, Director of AFSC's Action Center for Corporate Accountability (ACCA), on February 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT. ACCA provides strategic support for economic activism and BDS campaigns around the world. It also offers research and tools for institutional divestment from state violence and oppression.
This event will focus on how the global anti-apartheid movement, including boycott and divestment campaigns, were instrumental in pressuring the South African government to end apartheid. The panel will draw connections between South African apartheid and the systems of oppression that exist today in Israel/Palestine. Ultimately, this event will address the role grassroots activism can play in challenging systems of oppression and working for liberation and justice in Palestine.
