October 7th Two Years On: An Assessment

The renewed Israel-Hamas conflict is entering its third year, and no sustainable end is in sight. The Trump administration offered a plan to end the war in Gaza, but can it be implemented? After two years of fighting and continuously broken ceasefires, Israeli hostages are still kept captive and the civilian population in Gaza is still enduring horrific conditions.

Will the conflict ever end? Are the goals of Hamas and Israel truly irreconcilable? What role in the peace process is there for the United States and the Arab states? To understand these questions and more, I’ll be sitting down with the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research Center’s Khalil Shikaki and the Middle East Institute’s Natan Sachs on tomorrow’s episode of Carnegie Connects.

Please join us tomorrow, on the second anniversary of the October 7th attacks at 10am for an exclusive conversation.
